Mr. Zhang Hua holds an LLM degree from the University of International Business and Economics. He has been practicing law since 1998, focusing on criminal defense and civil and commercial dispute resolution. He has also accumulated extensive practical experience in intellectual property matters including trademarks, anti-unfair competition, new plant variety rights and trade secret protection.

Professional Experience

Since 2017, he has successfully acted as lead counsel in a series of high-profile and landmark cases, including but not limited to:

The seed industry case with the highest compensation award among China’s Top Ten Cases 2025;
The serial contract and rights protection cases of Nongda 372 and its parents, ranked first in the 2021 Top Ten Typical Cases of Agricultural New Plant Variety Protection;
The Wushan Simiao variety dispute series, known as “China’s First Seed Industry Intellectual Property Case”;
The ZN3 variety anti-malicious rights protection series, a successful petition case at the Supreme People’s Court selected in the 2025 Annual Report on Intellectual Property Cases of the Supreme People’s Court;
A liability dispute case for damaging corporate interests resulting in a compensation judgment of 39 million yuan.
